It’s with great delight that we have come to the end of the 2021/2022 academic session for Primary and Secondary schools.
It’s unbelievable that children continue to struggle to stay in school for what looks like a small amount of money, but that is their reality. As inflation continues to skyrocket and food prices multiply, families are making tough decisions on how to prioritize meager resources. The support of our partners and donors goes a long way to help this children stay in school and we are grateful.
Learning in school is usually not enough for the children we support. They are so far behind in their learning that they struggle to meet up with the learning outcomes. Wisdom Impact House therefore implements holiday classes for these students in reading and numeracy, life skills and some vocational skills. This year, we will be providing this opportunity for children to learn critical skills during the school holidays in August and September.
Over the years, we have seen improvements as the children took on this opportunities. In 2021, one boy who struggled with reading , received 2 weeks coaching in reading. This greatly improved his reading skills as he resumed the new session in school.
We continue to be committed to each child every year because every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.
