2024/2025 Session Junior Secondary Enrollment Drive

2024/2025 JS1 enrolled students

It’s the start of another academic year and we have been about our business selecting students to support to re-enter schools.

It may interest you to know that the drop out rate between primary and junior secondary school is currently at least 35%. This is largely because the cost of enrollment is way beyond the grasp of indigent families at about thirty-five thousand Naira (N35,000) in the FCT.

This session, we are happy to support 12 new students to get back into school and continue their Basic Education. This is the start of a 3-6 year support journey to see them finish their Basic Education and hopefully move into and complete senior secondary school as well.

We also aim to engage them in monthly empowerment sessions where they will develop their self esteem and other life skills that will improve their resilience.

Since 2017, WIH has been supporting indigent students to return to school and complete their cycle of Education. So far, we have supported 50 students from primary through secondary school. Some of these students have successfully moved into Tertiary Education.

Many thanks to WIH supporters and volunteers whose efforts make this happen!

We believe you can help us by committing to volunteer, or by giving a one-off donation or a regular amount towards funding this project monthly or annually.
